About the Job We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Manager of Industrial Engineering to lead our continuous improvement, labor management initiatives and operational optimization across the distribution network. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, enhancing productivity, and reducing costs through engineered labor standards, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will lead a team of industrial engineers across multiple sites, champion best practices, and foster alignment across the network. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of Industrial Engineers across multiple distribution centers. Set clear goals, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support career growth and team success. Labor Management & Standards Lead the development, implementation, and governance of the company’s labor management (LM) program, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with operational goals. Utilize time studies, predetermined time standards (e.g., MOST, MTM,) and best-in-class methodologies to establish engineered labor standards that drive fair performance expectations and support workforce planning. Partner with Operations and HR to ensure labor standards align with business strategy, associate engagement, and performance expectations Ensure labor standards are validated and refined through detailed time and motion studies, process mapping, and task analysis based on operational realities and continuous improvement feedback. Lead LMS configuration, calibration, and optimization in collaboration with IT, systems, and vendor partners (e.g., Manhattan). Provide strategic guidance on LM system upgrades, feature utilization, and data governance to improve standard accuracy, user adoption, and performance tracking. Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and change management plans to support consistent execution and understanding of labor standards across sites. Operational Excellence Identify and implement process improvements that enhance productivity, service levels, and cost efficiency. Partner with operations, technology, and systems teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. Support the development and refinement of distribution dashboard goals that track key performance indicators (KPIs), drive cost reduction, and optimize operational efficiency across the supply chain. Use data analytics to identify trends, benchmark performance, and inform strategic decisions that improve service and reduce waste. Network Alignment & Best Practices Promote consistency in execution by guiding DC teams on process standardization and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align strategies and share insights across the network. Analyze network capacity across distribution centers, including throughput, storage capacity, dock utilization, and material flow to support strategic planning and operational scalability. Support network design initiatives by evaluating facility layouts, process flows, and automation opportunities to optimize performance and reduce bottlenecks. Partner with supply chain planning teams to assess long-term capacity needs and recommend infrastructure or process changes to meet future demand. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field required. Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering or supply chain operations within retail, manufacturing, or a similar environment. 2+ years of proven experience managing engineers and leading multi-site initiatives. Technical Skills Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for performance monitoring and decision support. Experience with Labor Management Systems (LMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), (e.g., Manhattan, RedPrairie) including configuration, reporting, and integration. Strong background in time studies, predetermined time standards (e.g., MOST, MTM), and development of engineered labor standards. Understanding of automation technologies (e.g., conveyor systems, robotics, goods-to-person solutions) and their impact on labor standards and throughput. Experience with simulation and modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, FlexSim, AnyLogic) for layout optimization and capacity planning. Knowledge of change management and training strategies to support adoption of new processes and systems. Ability to interpret and apply operational KPIs, labor metrics, and productivity data to drive continuous improvement. Supervisory Scope Directly manages a team of 4 or more Industrial Engineers across multiple locations.
