Sr. Manager, Facilities Operations

 

Lucid Motors is seeking a facilities operations professional to support our dynamic location portfolio across multiple facilities programs and strategic initiatives. The Senior Manager of Facilities Operations will drive operational excellence while continuously evolving facilities services. This role will cover our multiple Newark, Ca locations, while influencing and setting program standards for our Michigan and Arizona corporate facilities. The ideal candidate has a strong background in facility operations and programs and works closely with business leaders across the organization. The Facilities Ops team at Lucid plays a critical role in ensuring the day-to-day operations run smoothly in support of our rapidly changing business needs. You’ll need to be proactive, innovative, and ready to roll up your sleeves. The ideal candidate will focus on improving the overall employee experience, while managing resources- both financial and people- in a way that supports Lucid’s growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Facilities Operations & Programs

• Develop and implement strategic facilities operations programs to support business needs and seamless efficiency, including food/beverage, janitorial, office supplies & consumables, and other miscellaneous service programs.

• In conjunction with the Sr. Architect/Planner, conduct on-going space utilization analysis and recommend layout improvements to maximize functionality across multiple business units.

• Drive evolution of Space Planning utilization tools and protocols to ensure accurate record-keeping and seating assignments.

• Collaborate closely with business leaders and HR to assign new hires to seating locations. Act as champion for an exceptional new-hire experience from a Facilities point of view.

Act as developer and point of control for all Facilities related content and resources on the Lucid HUB (intranet)

 

Vendor Management & Quality Standards

• Set Facilities program scopes and service level agreements, oversee financial commitments, and ensure that Lucid resources are being used efficiently and responsibly.

• Develop Operations project scopes, budgets, and timelines in coordination with key stakeholders. Provide alternatives to ensure all desired outcomes are considered.

• Collaborate with end users to evaluate satisfaction and effectiveness of Facilities programs. Conduct QBRs with key vendors to ensure SLA’s are being met.

• Monitor service provider compliance thru direct observation, address issues, and ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and budgetary requirements.

 

Leadership & Communication

• Supervise and develop Facilities Operations team to create a best-in-class, customer centric operation where our teams feel supported and developed to do their best work.

• Partner cross-functionally with HR, IT, Security and EHS to support company initiatives.

• Respond to Facilities issues quickly and communicate effectively across teams.

• Gather and synthesize relevant Facilities Ops data to help inform resource planning and informed decision-making.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with leadership, function heads, and end-users to assess facility needs and program solutions, balancing multiple priorities and resource constraints.

• In collaboration with Facilities Sr. Architect, present space utilization recommendations, project updates, and program feasibility studies to executives and stakeholders. Engage with internal teams during initial program ideation phases to align early on feasibility, directional costs, and schedule projections.

• Act as a liaison between internal teams and external vendors, ensuring smooth coordination of operations execution efforts.

 

Employee Experience, Events & Landlord Interface

• Drive innovation in the employee workplace experience- finding new ways to elevate the employee experience while supporting Lucid’s evolving needs. Act as Facilities liaison for all Lucid Events and routine landlord interaction.

• Integrate sustainability best practices, energy-efficient solutions, and environmental considerations into facility planning and operations wherever possible.

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative facility solutions.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Hospitality, or a related field.

• 7-10 years of experience in facilities operations, team leadership, and program management.

• Familiarity with ticketing and space planning software (CADm, OfficeSpace, JIRA, ServiceNow).

• Proven expertise in contract negotiations and managing relationships with service providers, vendors, and consultants to ensure smooth execution and alignment with objectives.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Knowledge of building codes, EHS requirements, and workplace design best practices.

• Ability to lead multiple operations initiatives in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Proven success leading a high-performing team that embraces continuous improvement, innovation and operational excellence.

• Experience in corporate, manufacturing & R/D facility planning & construction. Electric vehicle facility experience is strongly preferred including working knowledge of the EV automotive facility development process and typical development issues,
