Job Description

NBCUniversal has an opportunity for a talented individual to join their dynamic Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Team working in close partnership with the Business Continuity & Crisis Management and Security teams. The purpose of this position is to support overall EHS program implementation with an emphasis on the Universal City Studios group. The successful candidate will also be primary for ensuring that applicable EHS training is made available, new training is developed as needed, manage training systems to support internal clients, and facilitate training between third party software platforms and internal clients. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge, self-motivation qualities and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

The Senior EHS Manager will be a source of expertise for the business to protect employees, comply with the law, and protect the environment. The Senior EHS Manager is the primary face of the EHS Department to the operating groups at the Studio and 15 offsite locations.

The Senior EHS Manager will be the resource to solve EHS issues in a preventative manner and will be the person who inspects and audits work activities to ensure safe and compliant operations. The Senior EHS Manager will be expected to get results through influence and be a subject matter expert in one or more technical environmental, health and safety areas.

What You’ll Do:

Extensive experience in assessing and abating health and safety hazardsDemonstrated ability to build strong relationships and to successfully interact with various departments within the organization to find solutions to health and safety concerns and ensure compliance with OSHA/Cal-OSHA requirementsServes as technical advisor and problem solver for departmental teamsManage injury and illness investigations, determine root cause analysis and associated record keepingManage various health and safety programsManage the Inspections Program and conduct inspections as requiredOversee the monthly Safety Team meetings including developing content and presenting and conducting additional health and safety training on a variety of topicsPerform safety risk assessments of various operationsAdvise, direct and instruct personnel on the implementation of technical EHS requirementsPerform audits of high-risk activitiesDevelop and analyze weekly and monthly metricsManage the Contractor Safety ProgramInfrequently interact and provide guidance to tenants and non-employees.Interact with government agencies including Cal/OSHA, FAA, DHS, and othersRespond to Safety Hotline calls. Respond to emergencies during work and off hoursDocument work in EHS information management system - GensuiteParticipate in site, corporate or industry working groups as requiredConduct health and safety program assessmentsOther duties as assigned

What You Must Have:

Minimum of 6 years EHS experienceCompleted Bachelor's Degree in EHS, engineering, chemistry or biology and/or another related fieldAn understanding of the legislative structure of OSHA and Cal/OSHASix years of professional experience in leading health and safety programs and projectsComfortable working in an environment where your direction will only occur through the powers of influenceComputer savvy. Must be comfortable working with enterprise software and Microsoft SuiteExcellent professional verbal and written communication skillsAbility to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
