About the Role:
Yahoo’s Consumer Monetization team is seeking a Sr. Manager, Business Development – Monetization to help lead the charge in building the next generation of revenue-driving partnerships across our global owned-and-operated properties.
In this highly cross-functional role, you’ll drive the full lifecycle of strategic monetization partnerships—from sourcing and evaluating new demand and yield opportunities, to building business cases, negotiating contracts, launching proof-of-concept integrations, and managing long-term partner relationships. This is a unique opportunity to have a major impact on Yahoo’s growth strategy by shaping the way we connect with demand partners, SSPs, ID solutions, clean room providers, and other key players in the digital advertising ecosystem.
This role will require deep experience in identity and data privacy-forward partnerships, including work with alternative ID solutions, data clean rooms, and compliant data collaboration strategies. You’ll work closely with Legal, Product, and Engineering to structure partnerships that balance performance with regulatory rigor.
What You'll Do:
Identify, evaluate, and drive forward new partnerships for the ad stack powering the monetization of Yahoo’s O&O portfolio (News, Finance, Sports, Entertainment, Mail, etc.)
Own deals from start to finish—including partner outreach, opportunity sizing, business case development, negotiation, execution, and post-launch performance tracking
Lead proof-of-concept testing and help design scalable integrations across Yahoo’s ad stack
Drive and support partnerships focused on yield optimization, identity resolution, privacy-centric targeting, and data collaboration via clean rooms
Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Product, and Engineering teams to develop compliant, scalable deal structures aligned with evolving global privacy standards
Collaborate with Partner Management to provide ongoing strategic support leadership to partners while surfacing insights to inform Yahoo’s monetization roadmap
Monitor industry trends and competitive moves across ad tech, SSPs, DSPs, clean room providers, and privacy regulation to inform partner strategy
Support reporting and executive updates related to partner pipeline, performance, risks, and opportunities
Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or monetization strategy (experience in digital media, ad tech, or related verticals required)
Strong expertise in the programmatic landscape, including DSPs, SSPs, Prebid, Ad Servers, with focus on identity and data privacy ecosystems, including hands-on work with ID providers, clean rooms, and first-party data strategies
Proven track record of closing and managing complex partnerships involving technology integrations or yield optimization
Familiarity with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and their impact on advertising and data partnerships
Strategic thinker with financial modeling skills; able to assess partner value and build compelling business cases
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally and externally
Comfortable managing multiple projects across various partners and internal teams in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and takes a proactive, data-informed approach to problem solving
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus

The compensation for this position ranges from $122,250.00 - $255,000.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
