**The Opportunity**
This position works out of our Costa Rica – Alajuela location in the EP Division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As the **Sr** **Maintenance Engineer** , you will be directly responsible (under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Operations Manager or Maintenance Section Leader) for the management of the Operations Maintenance support area which core competency is the equipment, fixtures and tools maintenance, technical operation/support and projects execution/turn-key of all equipment related to Operations in the Costa Rica site.
This position is accountable for the performance of the maintenance team supporting all operating /facilities areas, and manages a variety of resources related to machines, equipment, tooling and fixtures to maintain the appropriate up time, manages improvement projects and routine tasks by developing and implementing processing methods, controls and metrics to deliver full quality system compliance standards, best cost effective alternatives and optimal customer service satisfaction based on this scope.
The role may provide direction and supervision to internal or external resources to accomplish maintenance tasks. He/She will have full accountability for all quality issues (CAPA’s, NCMR’s, others) related to the complete Operation’s scope, equipment, tooling and fixtures.
**What You’ll Do**
+ Applies fundamental management concepts, practices and procedures to accomplish assigned and routine tasks as required.
+ Direct interface with our external and internal clients on the scope of management, execution and turnkey of Operation’s scope related projects, equipment maintenance, tooling and fixtures operation for full compliance of the Manufacturing Operations scope with the complete SJM businesses and their necessities and expectations.
+ Support Environmental Management System (EMS) and Energy Management System (EnMS) Programs and Initiatives.
+ Use engineering and other methodologies so the complete site equipment, tooling and fixtures (maintenance and technical support/operation) can perform uninterrupted, at the best cost possible and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Use engineering and other methodologies so all Manufacturing Operations related projects can be performed, from conceptual to validation/turn-key, at the best cost possible, on a timely basis and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Report the results by means of metrics as established by our clients, management and business expectations.
+ Promote continuous improvement of our management and execution systems for projects and Operation’s equipment, tooling and fixtures maintenance and operation in order to comply with both internal and external clients.
+ Participates as a liaison between outside contractors, government and regulatory agencies and the engineering department facilities scope.
+ Lead a NPI from a Maintenance Stand Point, determining spares parts required, coordinate the move in & hook up and support the validation process.
+ Lead a project team, determining goals and objectives for the projects
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Mechanical, Maintenance, Mechatronic or Electrical engineering.
+ 5+ years of working experience on similar roles preferably on medical industry.
+ Knowledge in the following software: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
+ Experience in project management scope in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Maintenance).
+ High experience in equipment, tooling and fixtures maintenance, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
+ Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing concepts relate to maintenance and project management.
+ Fully bilingual English / Spanish required.
**SHIFT ADMIN** (Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm).
Works **100% on site**
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Desire knowledge of PLC Programming and Vision Systems.
+ Experience working on automation projects.
+ Knowledge of FDA, GMP and ISO guidelines.
