Sr. Mainframe Developer - SME (requires F2F) The Senior Mainframe Developer shall have extensive experience in all phases of the systems development life cycle, with emphasis on Requirements Engineering/ Management, design, development/programming, documentation, testing, and implementing Mainframe Applications.Has hands-on experience with strong COBOL, DB2,CICS, JCL development to support legacy Mainframe applications running on z/OS.
Provides technical assistance to less experienced personnel in the resolution of systems-related problems.
Provides technical direction for performing software development tasks and reviews work products for correctness and adherence to design standards.
Has excellent written and spoken communications skills, and will be able to perform technical documentation, user documentation, white papers, and customer presentations as required.
Has extensive experience to analyze customer needs, design a quality proposal and then develops customized solutions to customer/user problems.
Primary point of contact between user community and the contractor for major projects and will develop detailed and robust code, test, and implement proposed systems
 
Skills Requirements:
Required Skills :11+ years of strong COBOL development and maintenance experience.
11+ years coding OS/JCL job streams.
11+ years of DB2 experience.
9+ years of strong CICS experience.
9+ years of VSAM experience. 
Experience with Endevor, DB2 utilities, FileAid and Xpediter.
Candidate should possess good soft skills with extensive experience with analyzing and documentation of detailed requirements, development of use cases, high level and low level design, and be capable of producing quality documentation.
Candidate must possess the experience and ability to work independently without technical oversight and to collaborate effectively within and across teams.
Desired Skills :Experience working in Mainframe modernization initiatives.
Ability to lead Conversion and Modernization initiatives.
Has a track record of providing latest trends and Creative solutions in mainframe environment to the customers.
Has demonstrated continuous learning and skill development through adoption of  new technology trends in  mainframe environment.
Not a requirement but good to have past experience with MQ series, Mainframe XML processing, CLIST, REXX , SAS, RDz and Web services interfacing with Mainframe environment.
 
Education:
Bachelor 's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 11 years of professional experience.
