Position Summary:

The Sr. Mainframe Database Administrator is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions for managing and optimizing Db2z and IMS databases within an organization. This role requires a strong knowledge of Db2z and IMS database administration, programming, and automation to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of database systems.

 Key Responsibilities:

Implement structural changes through environments, access method analysis, application consultingOptimize Db2z and IMS resource utilization by tuning queries, recommending indexes, reorgs, Db2z and IMS support and deploy application releases.Building automation to improve legacy processesProcessing Database Support Requests and Change requests in production and non-production environmentsBuilding and implementing database backup and recovery strategiesPreparing disaster recovery (DR) documentation and participating in DR activitiesMaintains complex zOS Db2 databases with respect to JCL, DDL, Security and Db2 customer support.Provide technical training and consultation to other members of the IT organization.Support day to day monitoring and maintenance activities for Db2 z/OS and IMSSupport Db2 Function Level and Version Db2 z/OS Migrations and RSU upgrades and IMS upgradesRespond to Audit requests and provide necessary documentation24/7 on-call support rotation.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years’ of hands on experience with Db2 z/OS administration5+ years’ experience with Db2 Administration Tools, Query Monitor, and Db2 Omegamon and in-depth knowledge of Db2 utilities such as LOAD, UNLOAD, High Speed Unload, RUNSTAT, REORG, COPY, RECOVERY and SPUFI.5+ years’ experience with SQL – Intermediate to Advanced experience with zOS Db2 performance tuning5+ years’ experience with JCL and scheduling DBA jobs5+ years’ experience with 24 X 7 Oncall support rotation3+ years Data replication design and support skillset in a complex computing environment

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $222,480.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
