Summary

JOB SUMMARY:   The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) develops strategic relationships by understanding the business, challenges, opportunities and needs of the internal customers at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. Enhances and maintains those relationships by coaching and advising employees and managers on HR-related topics.  Consults with, advises, and coaches, managers and employees on a range of issues related to managing people and developing organizational capabilities, including performance, career development, and retention. Attends client department team meetings on an ongoing basis Review HR metrics with managers to identify trends and discuss possible solutions. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). When appropriate, and with solid knowledge and understanding of hospital directives - provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. Identifies possible training needs for business units and/or individual executive coaching needs and escalates to Sr. HR Leadership. Ensures that HR policies and applicable laws and regulations are applied consistently and appropriately. Guides managers towards the resolution of complex employee relations issues, ensuring manager conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations Ensures compliance with policies, standards, regulations and laws. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal and/or compliance department as needed/required. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Manages, coordinates or supports special projects related to recruitment, retention and other HR issues. Presents approved HR training sessions related to client departments, at the direction of HR leader. Works on special projects; performs other related duties as assigned. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. REQUIREMENTS: Seasoned professional knowledge; equivalent to a Master's degree; knowledge in more than one discipline. Bachelor's degree required.  PHR/SPHR or SHRM designations highly preferred. 7+ years experience in Human Resources, with specific experience in Employee Relations required.
