Sr. HR Business Partner

Job Summary

The Sr. HR Business Partner provides human resources (HR) consultation to a designated business unit. Uses working knowledge of the business to provide HR support and guidance. Partners directly with business leaders to define and execute HR tactics and strategies that align with business objectives and key initiatives. Analyzes trends and develops strategies to resolve HR issues and make a positive impact on business results. Leads organizational assessments that convert strategies into result-driven actions. Provides change-management support as needed. This role provides HR support for assigned stakeholders in functional areas of human resources including, but not limited to employee relations, talent management, talent acquisition, organizational design and total rewards/Shared Services. Facilitates and communicates organizational policies and programs and ensures labor law and regulatory compliance. Acts as a liaison and closely partners with HR Centers of Expertise functions.

This role will support our Product Development team across 3 locations and is based in Duluth, Minnesota, reporting to the Director, HR Business Services (Innovation and Operations).

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Sr HR Business Partner

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned stakeholders regarding general HR inquiries. Communicate with teams and individual employees about Total Rewards (pay, benefits, leave of absence) and recruitment, ensuring compliance with HR policies and practices. Provide support and counsel to functional leaders and employees, ensuring the consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and practices. Coordinate with HR Business Services Leadership to offer consistent advice and counsel on employee issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations to resolve concerns promptly. Demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality on sensitive topics; exercise good judgment in escalating complex or sensitive issues to HR Business Services Leadership, Legal Counsel, or leadership. Lead, develop, and participate in company-sponsored activities to support employee engagement. Assist with conducting exit interviews to gain insights into turnover trends. Coordinate monthly check-ins with new employees to enhance retention and engagement efforts. Manage employee surveys to gather feedback and improve the employee experience. Maintain accurate employee records and administrative procedures, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. Oversee and coordinate termination documentation, including unemployment requests and verifications. Collaborate with functional leaders to ensure organizational design and job roles align with company guidelines. Assist in the talent acquisition and recruitment process, including representing Cirrus at events to promote job opportunities. Actively support Cirrus' mission, vision, core values, and Service Essentials. Participate in department meetings, offering suggestions for process improvements aligned with company and functional strategies. Take on other projects and duties as assigned.

HR Workforce Management

Complete the monthly People Close and Stakeholder People Report to ensure the accuracy of organizational data and information within HR systems for assigned stakeholders. This includes fields such as headcount, turnover rates, Employee/Labor Relations updates, HR COE updates (Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards), employee demographics, department structure updates, and key changes to the assigned organization and personnel. Partner with HR Shared Services (HRSS) to handle employee inquiries related to general HR email inboxes, including assisting with UKG self-service (benefit enrollment, employment verification, payroll, time management, and system access). Ensure the timely and accurate submission of data to HR Shared Services for compliance and reporting purposes (e.g., airport badges, HR audits, National Security Agreement, AAP). Collaborate with HRSS to maintain up-to-date organizational charts and manage routine employee moves (personnel administration) and organizational management. Track and accurately code department invoices, ensuring timely reconciliation and submission. Assist in preparing and communicating key metric reports on behalf of the assigned stakeholder department(s) or location(s). Partner with HR Shared Services to ensure that HR files (both physical and digital) are created and maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent field Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with experience in a strategic HR Business Partner role supporting senior leaders. Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to effectively manage stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time Ability to effectively work with others and maintain professional demeanor Exceptional Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook) Experience utilizing Human Capital Management Systems Certification in HR (eg; (S)PHR) preferred
