Environmental Conditions

Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Laboratory Setting, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

Job Description

Work in a Value Stream environment and formulate molecular biology reagents for use in research and commercial scientific products for the life sciences industry. The formulations range in scale from 1 mL to 1,000 L and are manufactured using protocols/batch records in an environmentally monitored lab space. Data is recorded in batch records following good documentation practices as required for regulated industries.  

Responsibilities:

•Operate semi-automated and automated basic lab equipment.•Processing of bulk formulation, filling, capping and labeling.•Thoroughly and accurately complete documentation through completion of batch records and necessary verifications.•Provides feedback and contributes ideas and suggestions to drive continuous improvement.•Satisfactorily complete Thermo Fisher Scientific training requirements on time and operate within all ISO, GMP, and FDA standards pertaining to Frederick Site Manufacturing Operations.•May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

•Proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet production schedules.•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.•Ability to effectively communicate with team members, including cross-functional teams

Excellent Attention to detail

Education and Experience:

•Required: High school diploma or equivalent.•Required: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting, or a related field OR a Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field.

Preferred: Experience in an FDA regulated environment or equivalent.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $23.02–$34.53.
