Our team is searching for a Fixed Equipment Engineer to work at our Geismar, LA site where our integrated approach to manufacturing, research, and the overall management philosophy allows us to create chemistry for a sustainable future.  

 

As a Sr. Fixed Equipment Engineer, you create chemistry by... Providing fixed equipment engineering services throughout the site.  This will include piping systems, pressure vessels (all types, including towers, reactors, heat exchangers etc.) and atmospheric storage tanks.  Providing technical knowledge and ensuring compliance with all applicable inspection and repair codes. Reviewing inspection reports/findings and providing recommendations/path forward as appropriate.  Providing engineering oversight for fixed equipment repairs or alterations both on-site and off-site.  This includes scope development, shop surveillance, development of inspection plans and hold points, etc.Completing fitness-for-service evaluations based on inspection findings and equipment operating conditions.Evaluating new technologies and work processes for piping and equipment inspection and repair, seeking advantages in cost, delivery, and safety performance.If you... Have a BS Degree in a Mechanical Engineering disciplinePossess 7+ years of experience in fixed equipment (piping, pressure vessels, storage tanks) maintenance and reliability.Have Broad-based, hands-on knowledge and experience with all categories of fixed equipment.  You must possess a solid understanding of maintenance and reliability work processes, applicable codes and standards including (but not limited to) NACE, ASME, API, and OSHA CFR 1910.119, and PSM Mechanical Integrity requirements.Are extensively knowledgeable and experienced in interpreting inspection reports, data collection, analysis and corrective action recommendations.Are able to communicate effectively, influence, and motivate site stakeholders using facts and figures. Possessing general working knowledge of routine and advanced/specialized inspection techniques such as UT, MT, PT, VT, B-scan, C-scan, UT shear wave, Guided Wave technology, digital and computerized radiography, etc, is also required. Have a broad knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and analysis techniquesCreate your own chemistry with you@BASF
