The Sr. Financial Analyst works closely with Finance & Legal leadership as a business partner providing mentorship in support of financial and operational goals. This role requires extensive collaboration with Finance and Legal colleagues across global sites to help drive the organization’s success.ResponsibilitiesComplete monthly financial close activity, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of transactions, and identify key variances driversAssist with developing forecasts for operating expense and headcount, providing updated spend transparency for senior managementAssist with end-to-end processes for AOP buildPartner with senior leadership to support and evaluate financial impact of critical initiatives that may relate to key investments, reorganizations, M&A, or divestituresEnsure the accurate accounting treatment of invoices in accordance with GAAP standards and review agreements in support of external spendDrive compliance to policy and own Finance approval workflows for requisitionsPerform financial analysis in support of workforce planningSupport ongoing development of financial systems, using Hyperion Planning for financial reporting and planningMinimum Requirements & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA or CMA/CPA/CFA preferred)Proven experience in Accounting or Finance roles with demonstrated career progression in multinational organizationsStrong leadership and interpersonal skills working with global teams, driving accountability, and continuous improvement effortsExcellent knowledge of Hyperion or equivalent financial applications, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skillsProven ability to make logical assumptions, identify trends and optimally measure results against appropriate baselinesExcellent judgment and problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolutionEmbodies Thermo Fisher Scientific values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
