Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job DescriptionReporting to the Director, News FP&A, this key role on the News Group finance team will be responsible for consolidated News FP&A, supporting all National News brands (TODAY, Nightly News, Dateline, Meet the Press, NBC News NOW) and News Group leadership. Partnering closely with finance stakeholders at News, this role will be a unique opportunity to drive FP&A consolidation and executive reporting across major News Brands.
Responsibilities include:
Assist in driving reporting and analysis for all revenue, cost, EBITDA and FCF analysis across NBC News brands (TODAY, Nightly News, Dateline, Meet the Press, NBC News NOW) for reporting to NBC corporate, News leadership as well as Chief Business Officer, News Group and Chairman, News Group.Support all News EBITDA reporting and deliverables to Corporate FP&A including system submissions, story consolidation and messaging.Manage the Broadcast News headcount process including consolidation and submission to NBCU Corporate finance.Run pacing and estimate processes along with the Director, News FP&A, on behalf of Broadcast News and own all communication of actuals/estimates to News Group FP&A as well as NBCU Corporate FP&A.Coordinate pacing, estimate, and budget data from centralized Revenue / Cost groups to ensure accuracy and data tie outs between multiple stakeholder submissions.Coordinate / Own portions of shared costs & revenue for News brands where applicable (e.g. centralized HQ functions, matrix revenue)Assist in the creation of financial presentations to internal News Group senior leadership.Partner with News finance team to drive the Long Range Plan/Estimate and Budget processes, driving consistency across brand revenue/cost views.Assign and execute on other ad hoc requests.QualificationsQualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience2+ years of experience in Finance or AccountingProficient in Microsoft Office and a Windows environment, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skillsDesired Characteristics
