Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Role Purpose:
The Sr. Financial Analyst for Corporate Operations is responsible for supporting the financial planning and forecasting for NBCU Corporate Functions. This role will have significant interaction with leaders across operations and finance, particularly through the budget and estimate cycles. This role reports to the Manager, Corporate FP&A and is part of a 5-person team overseeing Corporate Functions Cost.
Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for assisting in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, estimates and long-range plan for assigned Corporate Functions Departments
+ Manage closing process including journal entries, pacing, variance analysis reporting
+ Partner with the corporate functions team to prepare operating reviews shared with the EVP of FP&A & Global Controllership Leader
+ Prepare financial results to share with senior leaders
+ Create management reports and presentations on a routine and ad hoc basis
+ Implement process change to create value added financial analysis for assigned Corporate Functions
+ Continually review financial processes to improve overall efficiency and accuracy and drive effective financial forecasting
+ Participate in other ad hoc projects
Basic Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in Finance and Accounting
+ Highly skilled in Excel and PowerPoint
Desired Characteristics:
+ SAP BW/BPC experience preferred
+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
+ Demonstrated ability to synthesize and encapsulate complex data and information in order to build financial models and presentations to senior leadership
+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments and work well under pressure
+ Must be accurate, highly organized with great attention to detail
+ Proactive approach to problem solving including analytical and information system skills
+ Solid work ethic and follow through
+ Willingness to improve processes and improve efficiencies
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the New York, NY office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
