Sr. Engineering Manager - Industrial Motion Control
Job Description

 

The primary function of this role is to lead a team of high-performing product engineers at Pune who deliver advanced products for future industrial machines. The role provides strategic leadership in enhancing the competitiveness of new products, driving cost-out initiatives, supporting localization, managing PMI of existing products, and ensuring rigorous validation as per specifications.

 

It also involves spearheading research and development of new products for both local and global markets to support business growth, in alignment with the PDP process. The role is part of the global Engineering Leadership Team, operating on a global platform to support both global engineering and local business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

 

Recruiting, selecting, and onboarding talented R&D professionals, building a high-performing local engineering team. Driving individual and team goals, performance metrics, and development plans. Allocating resources effectively to ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget and managing workloads and priorities. Fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing, cross-functional cooperation, and open communication. Driving basic managerial responsibilities of goal setting, reviewing work progress, providing feedback, supporting development plans, and driving engagement actions. Providing leadership for engineering projects including cost-out, improving working environment, and committing to continuous improvements in meeting customer requirements. Maintaining a high morale level and work environment in accordance with Danfoss Philosophy & Work Practices. Driving customized designs and modified valves, verifying the design using calculations, FEA, and CFD where applicable. Producing engineering reports documenting the process and performance of the product portfolio. Providing support to manufacturing, sales, and marketing to facilitating effective production of new and existing products. Representing engineering during PGT calls and providing project updates with respective sites Background & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering or Hydraulics Engineering or Controls or Mechatronics. 6–10 years of proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary product engineering teams. Prior knowledge of hydraulics is a strong advantage. Highly self-motivated with excellent communication skills and strong learning agility.
