The Senior Director, Pharmacy Solutions develops and implements injectable and oral pharmacy operational strategy for The US Oncology Network, with direct impact on financial metrics. The Senior Director works collaboratively with The US Oncology Network practices and leadership teams to plan and implement initiatives that increase efficiency of the pharmacy department, improve admixture safety, optimize financial outcomes and meet value based care goals.
The Sr Director of Pharmacy Solutions leads a team of Pharmacy Directors that provide direct support to The Network practices and are accountable for the execution of initiatives that improve quality and financial outcomes. In addition, the Sr Director takes on a leadership role in network-wide projects and committees. A successful candidate will have expertise in community oncology combined with excellent relationship building, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and empower a high performing team responsible for the customer relationship and execution of pharmacy strategies.
Lead the development and implementation of strategies to achieve financial metrics within The Network, including strategies to optimize drug economics and value-based care contracts.
Develop and implement strategies to improve safety and quality of oral and injectable pharmacy services, including meeting regulatory and contractual obligations. This includes implementing standardization when appropriate across The Network practices.
Ensure effective leadership of two subcommittees for the National P&T Committee.
Direct the development of analytical tools that improve team efficiency and contribute to the The Network’s goals.
Lead and participate in network-wide project with multiple stakeholders. Collaborate with USON and McKesson business lines to prioritize initiatives and achieve outcomes.
Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).Education
Must be a Registered Pharmacist
Pharm-D or equivalent
MBA or advanced degree preferred
Critical Skills
13+ years specific healthcare and/or systems-related experience including 6+ years managerial experience
Advanced knowledge of community oncology healthcare and pharmacy (infusion and oral drugs)
Knowledge of injectable and oral drug reimbursement, payer, regulatory, compliance and licensure issues at the federal and state level relative to retail/MID pharmacy
Knowledge of value-based care contracts
Strong oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
Proven experience managing diverse projects and programs related to oncology pharmacy services and achieving positive results on patient outcomes
Experience building and developing a high performing team
Success aligning goals and incentives across teams
Success managing development of analytics products/roadmap (i.e Agile)
