Sr. Director, Product Marketing Req ID: 79761 Location: Virtual, Other, United States In our ‘always on’ world, we believe it’s essential to have a genuine connection with the work you do. **Role Overview** The Sr. Director/Director of Product Marketing for RUCKUS is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving market success of our products and solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of end user needs and a commitment to representing the voice of the customer in all marketing. They will lead with business outcomes, ensuring that product marketing strategies directly contribute to measurable growth and impact. In addition to leading a team of Product Marketers, this person will: - Craft and execute the go-to-market strategy, owning launch metrics and conducting post-launch analysis. - Serve as a thought leader through content creation, analyst relations, external podcasts, and speaking engagements. - Champion the voice of the customer via structured customer visit programs and VOC forums. - Deliver regular executive dashboard reporting to senior leadership, showcasing marketing’s impact. This role offers cross-functional career pathways and opportunities to represent the company on leading podcasts, webinars, and analyst panels. Success is measured by objective KPIs – such as growth in sales pipeline, product adoption rates, asset utilization by marketing & sales, and brand engagement in target industries – demonstrating the impact of product marketing efforts on business results. The leader in this role will shape the future of networking industry marketing and grow an award-winning team. Key Responsibilities Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive product marketing strategies for our networking products & solutions, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and responsiveness to market trends. This includes identifying target customer segments, crafting product value propositions, and mapping out integrated marketing campaigns to drive awareness and demand. Thought Leadership & Content: Establish the company as a thought leader in enterprise networking. Create high impact, differentiated content (blogs, whitepapers, case studies, videos, webinars) that highlights our expertise [1]. Ensure content is aligned to business outcomes and is easy to consume. Maintain an active presence on their personal social media and professional forums to share insights. Represent the company at industry conferences and events as a speaker/panelist, promoting our vision and solutions. Product Positioning & Messaging: Define clear product positioning and messaging that differentiates our Wi-Fi and switching and Intelligent Network Management solutions in the market. Articulate the value propositions, business outcomes competitive advantages in a way that resonates with both technical and business audiences. Create a closed feedback loop to PLM: This role must maintain a close relationship with PLM and must have the technical chops to earn a seat at the table with the product team as they develop their roadmaps. Tailor messages to core verticals (e.g. education, hospitality, manufacturing, multi-dwelling units) to address industry-specific needs and use cases[2]. Ensure all sales and marketing materials consistently reflect this messaging. Product Launches & Sales Enablement: Lead the go-to-market launch for new products and major feature releases. Plan launch activities and coordinate across departments (Product, Engineering, Sales, PR) to ensure successful releases. Develop sales enablement tools and training – including sales decks, demos, FAQs, and competitive battle cards – for sales and channel partners to effectively sell. Provide direct support and coaching to sales on product positioning and customer pitches as needed. Demand Generation Campaigns: Work with marketing teams to design and execute campaigns that generate leads and drive pipeline. Contribute ideas for integrated marketing campaign themes, oversee content offers (such as e-books, ROI calculators, or webinars), and ensure clear, impactful messaging. Monitor campaign performance and optimize tactics to improve lead quality and conversion rates. Manage & Evolve a High-Performing Team: Empower and elevate a team of product marketers by fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning. Ensure the team works collaboratively across functions (Product, Sales, Marketing Customer Success, etc.) and consistently represents the voice of the customer in messaging, campaigns, and go-to-market strategies. Provide mentorship, set clear goals, and create opportunities for professional growth while driving accountability and excellence. Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product marketing activities, such as pipeline contribution, product adoption rates, and content engagement. Regularly analyze these metrics to evaluate effectiveness. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and tactics, focusing on the initiatives that yield the strongest results[3]. Prepare updates for senior leadership on marketing’s impact (e.g. how campaigns are influencing pipeline or market share).\ (Exposure to additional responsibilities such as market research, competitive analysis, and cross-functional team leadership is expected as needed to achieve the above goals.) Qualifications and Experience Experience: 8+ years of experience in product marketing, marketing management, or related roles (B2B technology experience preferred). Demonstrated success in driving go-to-market strategies and launching products or services. Leadership experience (directing projects and teams) is a must. Networking Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of enterprise networking technologies – especially Wi-Fi (WLAN) and Ethernet switching – is required. A strong background in campus networking solutions or related IT infrastructure is essential to credibly market our products. You should understand networking concepts and be able to translate technical features into customer benefits. Ideally you will bring technical depth in areas such as security integrations, cloud platforms, and emerging technologies like AI Communication & Thought Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to create impactful content (marketing collateral, articles, presentations) and to deliver engaging presentations or webinars. Comfort with public speaking and representing a company externally is important for the thought leadership component of this role. Strategic Mindset & Analytical Skills: Able to think strategically about markets and craft data-driven marketing plans. Capable of analyzing market trends, customer insights, and campaign metrics to make informed decisions. Results-oriented, with a focus on meeting objectives and continually improving performance. Vertical Market Familiarity: Experience or familiarity with RUCKUS core verticals (such as education, hospitality, government, multi-dwelling units, etc.) is a strong advantage. Understanding the unique needs and buying drivers in these industries will help in creating more resonant messaging and targeted campaigns. Collaboration & Leadership: Strong collaborator who can work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, sales teams, marketing, and executives. Able to lead by influence and build consensus. Must be able to mentor and develop talent. Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
