**Overview**
The Senior Director of Consumer Insights is a strategic leadership role within the SGWS Strategy & Insights team that will drive a consumer-centric mindset across the organization. This position leads both the Consumer Insights and Multicultural Insights functions, overseeing a comprehensive team that includes a Consumer Insights Director, Consumer Insights Analyst, and the established Multicultural Insights team. The role champions SGWS in developing diverse consumer and general shopper marketing strategies for suppliers and customers, while amplifying initiatives to support multicultural shopper strategies. This position serves as the subject matter expert on "route to consumer" that starts with a total consumer lens, and cascades down to multicultural marketing & commercial activation, in collaboration with SGWS leadership, suppliers, customers, sales leadership, and commercial operations. The Senior Director works with the broader Strategy and Insights team, to develop wholistic commercial storytelling, from a commercial and consumer lens. This team will integrally work with SGWS Regions and States to optimize program execution at the field level–collaborating with all functions of sales and marketing and overseeing the implementation of consumer-centric programs. The right candidate will set a vision and lead with innovation to guide SGWS' overall consumer and multicultural marketing approach.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Lead, develop, and manage an expanded insights team including the Consumer Insights Director, Consumer Insights Analyst, and the Multicultural Insights team
+ Serve as the subject matter expert on the Strategy and Insights team on Shopper and Consumer Insights and how to translate these into actionable strategies for SGWS and supplier growth initiatives
+ Partner with regional and market leadership to understand their business challenges and translate
+ Integrate with SGWS’ regional and market teams to collaborate on deploying highly effective consumer and multicultural tactics at a local level
+ Act as a strategic thought partner to SGWS leadership and supplier partners to deliver strategic insights that help shape decisions on category, supplier and brand strategies that are aligned with shifting consumer preferences
+ Leverage shopper and consumer insights to build selling stories for retailers and internal SGWS teams
+ Coach, direct, and counsel team on overall path to purchase strategies and performance; define expectations and monitor progress
+ Establish strategic direction for both consumer insights and multicultural insights functions
+ Create opportunities for team growth and cross-functional collaboration
+ Foster an innovative, collaborative team culture that drives business results
+ Serve as the national lead for program development with oversight of shopper strategies and programming recommendations for suppliers
+ Identify and implement sales strategies to drive growth, generate revenue, and increase market share; taking into consideration the overall integrated approach of consumer centricity
+ Lead the development of comprehensive consumer insights strategies that encompass both general market and multicultural consumers
+ Provide strategic oversight for research initiatives exploring consumer behavior, preferences, and trends
**Additional Primary Responsibilities**
+ Oversee the development of actionable consumer insights that drive marketing and sales strategies
+ Lead annual planning process by providing proactive strategic brand and category direction to key internal stakeholders, reflective of retailer opportunities and potential with diverse shoppers and consumers
+ Provide insight into the account landscape (on, off, regional, independent accounts) in the top SGWS states: TX, FL, CA, IL, NY and National
+ Collaborate with the Strategy and Insights team to further develop reporting tools: VISTA Account segmentation, Numerator, Nielsen HomeScan, Opus, Shopper Insights, Brand Ownership tracking, etc.
+ Create "best-in-class" customer presentations, develop business insights and help translate them into action; develop shopper affinities and behavior insights, supporting retail programming around cultural tentpoles
+ Update sales management in a timely manner on incremental programs from suppliers and ensure regional marketing directors and trade marketing managers are aligned on goals, inventory, etc.
+ Demonstrate strong leadership across the organization by developing relationships with and ensuring alignment/commitment from relevant departments and leaders
+ Guide the integration of consumer insights across all aspects of the business
+ Oversee research methodologies and approaches for all consumer insights initiatives
+ Ensure analytical rigor and strategic relevance across all team deliverables
+ Ability to research and analyze proprietary and syndicated sales data and produce summary reports to measure the effectiveness of targeted programming
+ Drive innovation in consumer research approaches and methodologies
+ Provide thought leadership on the U.S. demographic landscape and evolving consumer trends
+ Maintain high attention to state-by-state marketing compliance laws
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
+ 10+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or related field
+ 6+ years of management experience leading a consumer insights team
+ Strong background in consumer research design, methodology, and analytics
+ Proven track record of translating consumer insights into successful business strategies
+ Experience with multicultural marketing strategies and diverse consumer segments
+ Deep understanding of the beverage alcohol industry and consumer landscape
+ Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership
+ Strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
+ Outstanding project management skills with ability to handle multiple complex initiatives
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
