Sr. DBA, Remote Care Operations

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
+ The Remote Care Operations team provides a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where engineers work closely to provide seamless and reliable remote care online services and support to patients and physicians around the world.
+ Internally, you will be working closely with Product and Site Reliability Engineers while cross functionally, you will be collaborating with other teams such as Development, IT, Software & System Engineering to continuously look for new areas of improvement.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Monitoring and ensuring database performance in cloud environments.
+ Identifying potential issues with the database and resolving them in a timely manner to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
+ Ensuring the maintenance of backups and conducting disaster recovery operations in accordance with business requirements and standards.
+ Monitoring security and preventing unauthorized access and follow compliance procedures.
+ Scheduling server maintenance in accordance with business requirements, after coordinating with all relevant stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption and optimal timing.
+ Providing best practice guidance to the development/application/stake holders.
+ Resolving production data issues as per given SLA timeline to avoid major incidents.
+ Managing tablespaces and roles as per given security standards.
+ Developing automation technologies for data loading and data refresh activities.
+ Database Migrations between cross platforms (Oracle, MS SQL and DB2) into Multi Cloud (Azure, AWS and GCP) PostgreSQL database technology.
+ Ensuring data integrity and managing user access and permissions as per the organization standards. Supports all Company initiatives, policies, operating procedures, processes. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
+ This position requires physical presence at workplace.
+ High flexibility in working extended hours and able to support beyond official working hours as and when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Management Information Systems, Data Science or relevant disciplines.
+ A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is required in PostgreSQL database technology, specifically with multi-cloud environments including Azure, AWS, and GCP tenants with proven previous experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or similar role.
+ Responsible for managing PostgreSQL databases in Azure cloud environments, ensuring smooth operation and functionality to meet business goals.
+ In-depth understanding of database management and security. Possesses strong problem-solving and communication skills such as a systematic problem-solving approach coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive. Actively engages with team members and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding and alignment on project goals. Additionally, providing timely and efficient DBA support during business working hours is essential for maintaining smooth operations and addressing any issues that may arise.
+ Preferable to have working experience in a computer engineering, software development or IT environment and familiar with database, operating systems or middleware system.
+ Ability to handle multiple assignment and perform in a diverse cross-functional team environment.
+ Experience in optimizing database performance, managing database issues and backups for point-in-time recovery, disaster recovery, and monitoring security and access management as per business requirements.
+ Experience in Multi Cloud tenant (Azure, AWS, and GCP) to provision the PostgreSQL PaaS solution and configure as per security standards. Experienced in database migrations across platforms from legacy databases (SQL, Oracle, and DB2) to multi-cloud PostgreSQL PaaS databases.
+ Understanding access management to ensure database security. This includes controlling who can access the database and to what extent, as well as removing inactive users when necessary.
+ Multi Cloud Certified Professional or additional Cloud related certifications are a plus.
