Japan Store Tech - Knowledge and Data Tech Team is responsible for building a comprehensive knowledge and data taxonomy. By seamlessly integrating business data with agentic AI capabilities, we systematically organize and harness valuable insights to empower users across the organization. Our mission is to enable reliable analysis and better-informed decision-making with AI to drive long-term success for the Amazon Japan Store business. We achieve this by establishing a robust data foundation, powering innovative services, and continuously elevating our expertise in knowledge and data management. Leveraging your deep data infrastructure expertise, you will collaborate closely with scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to uncover strategic data opportunities and bring them to life through innovative solutions. Key job responsibilities - Lead the design and implementation of complex data pipelines for business needs. - Architect and develop scalable, high-performance data systems with AWS infrastructure. - Implement robust data solutions and scalable data architectures. - Develop and improve the operational excellence, data quality, monitoring and data governance. - Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on engineering best practices and methodologies. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of data engineering experience - Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines - Experience with SQL - Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS - Experience mentoring team members on best practices Preferred Qualifications - Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR - Experience operating large data warehouses Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
