Sr. Corporate Accountant

As a skilled and experienced accountant in the FleetPride (the “Company”) accounting organization, the Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for key corporate accounting areas (e.g., fixed assets, leases, goodwill, intangibles, debt, stock-based compensation, insurance, corporate operating expense), financial statements, accounting for mergers and acquisitions, evaluating and documenting complex accounting positions, and coordination of corporate and consolidated activities with the external audit firm, and the day-to-day oversight of individuals supporting the accounting and reporting processes. This leader will be expected to be a strong presence among the accounting leadership team and to possess a continuous improvement mindset in support of the Company and the accounting organization’s strategic objectives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Accounting and Monthly Close:

Execute the monthly and quarterly close process to ensure accurate and timely financial results.Perform recurring and non-recurring work in support of monthly accounting for corporate areas, including but not limited to, corporate SG&A, fixed assets, leases (ASC 842), goodwill, intangibles, insurance, and other areas as assigned.Coordinate with internal teams (FP&A, Tax, Treasury, etc.) to align reporting processes.Perform corporate risk accounting and reporting with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders, including brokers and actuaries, if assigned.Administer the Company’s lease accounting and reporting solution.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for both management and external (US GAAP) reporting purposes.Prepare work papers, memorandums, and other required documents in support of the Company’s annual audit.Administer the Company’s financial reporting solution.

Technical Accounting:

Participate in the periodic and ad hoc identification, assessment and documentation of complex accounting matters in support of the Company’s US GAAP financial statements.Support the Company external audit firm discussions or reviews needed on complex matters.Support the opening balance sheet and measurement period accounting for mergers and acquisitions, including periodically working with FP&A to assess accounting for any post-close consideration, to ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting.Monitor new accounting pronouncement activity to evaluate impacts on the Company and proactively assess impacts and/or document the Company’s position.

Internal Controls:

In support of the CAO’s strategic objectives, create, document and maintain documentation to support existing internal controls and to identify and address process and/or control gaps identified.

Systems & Process Improvements:

Evaluate and implement financial systems improvements and automation opportunities.Participate in cross-functional projects, as applicable, on behalf of the accounting organization.Ensure data integrity and efficient use of technology in the accounting function.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s in Accounting or Business Administration a plusCPA a plus5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a medium to large corporate environmentDemonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Experience with ERPs with focused experience in AS400, Cognos / TM1, SQL and PowerBI considered a plusExperience in a high-growth or mid-sized corporate environment

Strong communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
