What You’ll Be Doing
As the Sr. Consultant in Procurement, you will manage end-to-end procurement activities within the International Sourcing Team, with a particular focus on supporting CIBC's Capital Markets business across the UK, Europe, and Asia. You will play a key role in addressing client needs, requests, and projects, even when presented in a general or ambiguous manner, by defining issues and resolving them in innovative ways.
In this role, you will:
Develop and present procurement strategy recommendations as part of advisory services to clients, tailored to their business requirements and informed by industry analysis.
Lead and execute moderate to high complexity procurement initiatives, including developing requests for proposals (RFPs) and other supplier evaluation tools, while ensuring that CIBC risks are mitigated and all regulatory requirements and CIBC policies are adhered to.
Provide specialized support for procurement activities related to Capital Markets operations in the UK, Europe, and Asia, ensuring alignment with regional business needs and regulatory frameworks.
Develop contract content independently or in collaboration with legal resources, and lead negotiation strategy alignment and contract negotiations to secure agreements.
Secure necessary authorizations for agreement execution and ensure successful implementation of procurement initiatives.
This role requires a strong ability to navigate complex procurement scenarios, deliver innovative solutions, and ensure that CIBC's global operations are supported effectively, particularly within the dynamic and highly regulated Capital Markets environment in the UK, Europe, and Asia.

How You’ll Succeed
Client Engagement & Relationship Management – Help clients meet their business goals by providing better service and value. Focus on each client experience and make every interaction meaningful. Establish and maintain healthy working relationships with business partners, suppliers, and peers. Develops trusted adviser relationships and provide leadership and valued consulting advice to facilitate the effective management and completion of procurement initiatives. Align procurement solutions with their business objectives. This role works with Supplier Risk Stakeholders, Relationship Managers and Business Lead to ensure CIBC’s supplier management framework is implemented for medium to high risk or high spend supplier under the scope of responsibility.
Risk Management & Industry Knowledge- Ensure the appropriate Governance is followed and adhered to for all contracts. Keep abreast of the industry knowledge, innovations and advancements in business practices and technologies.
Influencing and Negotiations – Be a strong influencer and negotiator with the ability to liaise with all levels of stakeholders. Manage contract drafting, negotiations and finalization, approval processes. Comply with CIBC’s Procurement and Supplier Governance policies and process.
Problem Solving - Listen, ask questions, and put yourself in the client’s shoes. Act like an owner by taking accountability for client issues, and know when to collaborate with others to build a better solution together.
Manage Multiple Priorities - Use effective self-management practices to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience of a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and/or supplier processes, practices, tools and templates and principles of formal sourcing processes, and ability to apply to various categories / circumstances. You maximize efficiencies, processes and systems across Corporate Services to meet CIBC business goals. You have strong self-planning skills sufficient to plan own assignments according to general work plans; ability to multi-task, plan and meet timelines. You have experience drafting various contract schedules (e.g., Scope of Work, SLA, etc.) and have negotiated contractual terms and conditions. You also have experience developing strategy and converting it into an implementation plan to meet procurement objectives. You have strong written and oral communication, influencing and negotiating skills sufficient to shape decision-making process on matters such as complex contract negotiations.
