What You’ll Be Doing
As the Sr. Consultant, Process Optimization for Canadian Banking , you will join CIBC’s Chief Administrative Office (CAO) and will contribute to a team driving business process change and modernizing procedures for the Wealth Management businesses. You will engage relevant partners and users; initiate processes and client journeys; assess client and stakeholder impact; and implement recommendations to radically simplify how we do business and serve our clients. You will also review, update and distribute internal procedures to front-line employees along with assisting in the dissemination and maintenance of supervisory reports to support an effective control environment. This role will allow you to drive and manage strategic optimization initiatives focused on effective cost management to ensure successful delivery within appropriate spend budgets, track benefits and monitor sustainment of strategic initiatives within defined thresholds, escalating where appropriate.

How You’ll Succeed
Process Optimization - You will analyze, design and implement process changes across the Wealth Management businesses with a focus on simplification, consolidation and/or automation of high impact opportunities to drive frontline productivity lift while ensuring processes remain aligned to our risk appetite and adhere to regulatory requirements. You will assist with the strategic coordination of initiatives originating from the Process Optimization Executive Steering Committee (ESC) that supports our strategy and deliver enhancements that measurably improve business operational effectiveness. You will also scope and implement use cases to leverage artificial intelligence to drive operational effectiveness.
Procedure and Knowledge Management - You will develop and maintain effective procedures and knowledge management systems, contributing to business risk effectiveness to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. You will also design and implement knowledge management strategies to capture, store and disseminate business knowledge across the Wealth businesses. You will monitor and evaluate effectiveness of procedure and knowledge management practices by partnering with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and make recommendations for improvements in alignment with CIBC’s risk appetite, complying with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Project Management - You will collaborate with multiple business partners such as Technology, Product, Business Risk, Training, Legal and Compliance to ensure successful implementation of business process changes ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements in the context of how we serve our clients today, and tomorrow. You will lead the implementation of process changes, review and update internal procedures and ensure they remain current and in alignment to CIBC’s policies and risks.
Relationship Management - You will develop and manage relationships with executives and other leaders, providing Leadership, Advisory and consultation for our partners on upcoming and new business process changes and procedural updates. You will communicate short-term and long-term impacts of optimization activities recognizing connections between the various regulatory and strategic initiatives and managing the impact to our clients and frontline teams.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience in strategic thinking with strong technical knowledge and expertise. You are skilled at quickly understanding the subject, context and message required and able to transform that into clear, easy-to-follow documentation. You also have experience in the planning of strategic initiatives and execution of process enhancements/optimization.
You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees e.g. MBA are an asset.
