Sr. Buyer
Curtiss-Wright’s Round Rock facility is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement efforts across their nuclear, defense, and industrial programs. In this role, you’ll manage the sourcing and acquisition of critical materials and services, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and timely delivery in line with company policies, CPSR standards, and contractual obligations. You’ll work independently to evaluate bids, negotiate with suppliers, and oversee the full purchase order lifecycle, with direct impact on operational success.

Your Challenge:
Lead the sourcing and procurement of materials, supplies, and services in alignment with contract requirements, CPSR standards, and regulatory policies.
Analyze purchase requisitions, issue RFQs/RFPs, evaluate supplier bids, and negotiate pricing, delivery, quality, and service.
Manage the full procurement lifecycle: from issuing purchase orders to resolving claims, over-shipments, and engineering changes.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Program Managers, Engineering, and Accounts Payable to ensure smooth procurement operations and timely supplier performance.
Drive sourcing strategy development and continuous supplier performance improvement initiatives.
Leverage your experience to make independent, judgment-based decisions on complex procurement issues.
Ensure compliance, mitigate supply chain risk, and proactively manage vendor relationships in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
What You Bring:
10+ years’ experience in processing and completing purchase orders, determining prices from available vendors which meet cost and quality guidelines and verifying receipt of purchase orders.
Ability to work within company’s ERP system.
Experience with conducting vendor negotiations and negotiations with suppliers to obtain products at the best quality and cost in order to ensure end-users needs are met.
Experience in coordinating with accounts payable to resolve any issues with credit holds, credit card reconciliations or complex pricing problems in order to ensure prompt payment and avoid delays to the end user.
Knowledge of soliciting suppliers/vendors for materials, products and services through formal Requests for Quote (RFQ) and or Request for Proposals (RFPs).
Ability to communicate effectively with the Program(s) Managers and supplier(s) during the course of procurement to ensure timely delivery in compliance with requirements.
Prior experience with manufacturing.
Assist in the formulation and implementation of sourcing strategies, participate on cross-functional teams to ensure that Energy US is leveraging its spend, effectively utilize resources, drive to best value and improve overall supplier performance management across our value chain.
