The Opportunity:
Business System Engineer on the Manufacturing domain.This position is in the Information Technology department and will work directly with business users to develop and implement systematic solutions that solve their business challenges.
Another part of the position will be to provide the necessary support to ensure systems are available and functioning properly during operational hours.
Areas of expertise will include Production Planning, Production execution and but also Quality inspection, Quality Assurance and Warehouse management processes applied to the production processes.
Reporting to the application manager for the manufacturing domain, you will support the manufacturing teams worldwide in a technico-functional role and participate in project teams for all Avantor organisations in EU, APAC and America.
Job responsibility:
- Be the solution expert for all systems supporting Production planning and execution (SAP ECC and S4), Bartender labeling solution and any other manufacturing/planning corporate systems and interfaces with other connected systems.
- Design new processes to match business requirements and perform system configurations and/or developments.
- Provide business support for SAP and other core systems. This will entail working flexibly as part of a support team in line with the standard procedures.
- Act as a focal point for skill/expertise in the production area within the Enterprise Solution team.
Key Tasks :
- Specialize in one or more SAP modules and seek to broaden expertise in all SAP modules and other applications. Emphasis on PP, MM, WM, QM and related technology (ZPL programming language, Webdynpro, Webservice, Smartforms, SAP Workflow,…)
- Work in different functional areas depending on the Centre of Competence work requirements and expertise available.
- Make system configuration (customising) changes.
- Maintain SAP as appropriate with Hotpacks/ LCPs and release upgrades.
- Desing, Develop and maintain all interfaces with SAP and other core systems.
- Undertake specific technical developments relating to all systems managed by the center of competence.
- Document all system changes in line with the standard procedures.
- Keep up to date with SAP releases and other technology advances so that the company can make best use of them as required by the business.
- Input ideas and suggestions, identifying the business areas where changes to business processes or new technology could benefit the company.
Skills, knowledge & experience
- Min 5 years of experience in a similar role with strong expertise on PP, WM, MM and QM modules.
- ABAP knowledge or experience required. Other programming experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English and ability to communicate with international teams is a must.
- Ability to undertake general communication and training at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills to be able to understand and solve poorly defined problems.
- Internship or experience on a chemical manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Previous experience on HANA technology, S4HANA, SAP PI, SAP EWM, Tulip MES or Netstock IBP or other SCM system is a plus.
