Sr. Business Analyst

We are currently seeking a seasoned Business Analyst, Applications to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Manager, Business Applications, this role is pivotal in delivering operational support for key business systems including JD Edwards, Kronos, Point-of-Sale solutions, and reporting platforms such as Incorta.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in troubleshooting application and integration issues, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders across various business units. This position requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to effectively identify, articulate, and resolve application-related challenges—ensuring optimal value from our IT investments.

In addition to day-to-day support, the Business Analyst will actively contribute to enterprise-wide projects and initiatives, helping drive innovation and continuous improvement across our application landscape.

 

NOTE: This is a temporary role for up to 12 months with possible extension. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with departments to align processes and systems to increase efficiencies in Workforce Management, Asset Management, Point-of-Sales, Work Order processing, Supply Chain and Inventory functions.

Lead discussions or workshops with business users and/or stakeholders to gather requirements.

Seek consensus and acceptance of business requirements and solutions from the key stakeholders.

Assist in the planning, design, development, quality review, and deployment of new applications and/or enhancements to existing applications.

Ensure compatibility and interoperability between applications.

Analyze implications of requested new or enhanced application functionality and provide feedback.

Perform hands-on fixes and configuration of software.

Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for business applications as needed.

Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.

Provide orientation and training to end users for modified and new systems.

Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders.

Provide technical application stewardship: responsible for administration functions of an application, including user administration, application maintenance and sustainability

Work closely with key stakeholders, and other IT groups to identify appropriate solutions.

Write functional specifications to address application bugs and minor enhancements.

Create operational support documentation and user guides for support provided to the business or other parts of IT.

Create formal system change requests and facilitate delivery of production updates through the change management process.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Post-secondary degree or Diploma in Business Operations, IT, or other related discipline.

3 to 6 years’ experience implementing, optimizing and/or supporting business applications.

Working knowledge of System Development Life Cycle methodology.

Knowledge of business functions related to accounting, asset management, supply-chain and billing.

Prior experience supporting end-users on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues on applications and systems.

Experience working with IT Service Management solutions like ServiceNow or similar systems.

Familiar with Incident Management, Request Management, Problem Management, Release Management and Change Management Processes.

Experience working with and supporting Enterprise Applications like JD Edwards, Kronos, Incorta or similar systems.

Process and systems experience in hospitality industry is highly desirable.

Experience in task prioritization either independently or in a team-oriented collaborative environment.

Software development exposure or experience is considered an asset.

Advanced analytical skills in gathering system requirements, logical data & process modeling, use case modeling, workflow modeling.

Maturity of judgment and on-demand decision making to resolve problems immediately and/or to seek support when required.

Experience performing upgrades of business applications / systems and/or related 3rd party applications highly regarded.

Proven experience in translating business requirements into creative functional and technical specifications.
