About the Role
This role supports the manager of Engineering IT for Canada by providing provide direct embedded support services within our Engineering department services at the WESCAM division. The successful candidate will be a talented, motivated and seasoned Linux Administrator with exceptional customer service skills, is adept at managing and coordinating diverse support demands, and drives towards efficiency and continuous improvement for their customers.
Primary Responsibilities
Endpoint Management: Maintain and support Linux endpoints (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.), ensuring optimal performance and security in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.Automation: Run and potentially develop Ansible playbooks for system provisioning, configuration management, patching and automation tasks.Containerization: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Docker containers to support various applications and services.Application: Provide support and administration for Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), ensuring smooth operation and user satisfaction.Project: Plan, execute, and manage small upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption and efficient implementation.Customer Support: Provide excellent customer support, addressing technical issues, and resolving user inquiries promptly and effectively. Proficiency in Linux endpoint management.Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, configuration automation tools (Ansible) and containerization tools (Docker).Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) is a plus.Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.).Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.Experience with Windows Server is a plus.Desired Education and Experiences
