ROLE SUMMARY
The Cloud Transformation, Infrastructure and Enterprise Solutions (C-TIES) organization delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes. Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls. C-TIES secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.
The DDI/SLB Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of Pfizer’s global infrastructure for Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), IP Address Management (IPAM), Service Load Balancing (SLB), and Global Service Load Balancing (GSLB).
This role requires advanced expertise in network services, automation, and enterprise-scale architecture, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and security. In addition, the individual must demonstrate experience working in an agile environment, showing a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain highly available DDI/SLB technology services infrastructure.Design and implement DDI/SLB services enhancements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Network Engineering, Cloud, Security, and Application teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.Function as an escalation point to troubleshoot and resolve complex service degradations or outages, including root cause analysis and post-mortem documentation.Ensure policy compliance and governance across all DDI/SLB platforms.Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers or Network Operations staff and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization.Participate in vendor evaluations, and roadmap planning for DDI and SLB platforms.Drive service enhancements and upgrades, ensuring alignment with business needs and technology standards.Maintain design and support documentation.Identify continual service improvement opportunities.Execute defined periodic review functions to ensure services operate as designed.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, engineering or equivalent experience.5+ years’ experience in the network field.Demonstrated ability to effectively document network designs and communicate implementation details.Demonstrated experience in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.DDI and Load Balancing technology knowledge.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous DNS, DHCP, and/or IP Address Management (IPAM) support experience.Experience with Efficient IP DDI solutions.Experience with Cloud Networking, especially with vendors such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.Previous load balancing support experience in products such as F5, NetScaler, VMware AVI, AWS/Azure or A10.Associate level Industry certifications such as CCNA, F5 CA, CCSA, AWS SAA, Azure or equivalent expertise.A strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.Self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision.High technical aptitude; quickly learns new skills.Change agile and must act with a sense of urgency.Team oriented and willing to contribute innovative ideas.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
