Sr. Art Director

Job Description:

As the Senior Art Director, you have a proven track record of creating cutting-edge design solutions for impactful marketing campaigns. You are adept at developing innovative concepts and strategies to meet client objectives. You are skilled in both traditional and digital mediums, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for pushing creative boundaries while upholding and assisting to evolve brand standards. You’ll foster a collaborative environment across teams, lead projects, and stay at the forefront of design innovation and emerging technologies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This position reports to the Creative Director and partners with this person to ensure the work stays aligned to the creative vision, tone and strategy. The Sr. Art Director works collaboratively and supports the entire Marketing Department.  

Collaborate with Creative Leadership to execute the artistic vision and align strategy with brand objectives

Partner with and mentor creative team members on the development of visual concepts and provide feedback for refinement

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into visually compelling design solutions

Big idea thinking; ability to conceptualize, storyboard, develop, and direct video projects and video shoots

Assist with planning and art direction for studio and location photography

Lead projects, campaigns and executions across digital and print mediums, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence

Provide a wide range of design solutions that work across channels including both traditional and digital tactics

Ensure brand consistency in visual elements across all projects

Stay abreast of design trends and industry developments to drive creative innovation

Manage multiple projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery

Manage project files, assets, and outputs through to completion

Support client presentations, articulating the creative vision effectively

Take direction, and feedback well to create work that meets the objective

Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in a senior art direction role with a strong portfolio

Proven experience in both digital and print worlds

Emerging leadership and team mentorship skills

Excellent visual and conceptual thinking abilities

Effective communication and presentation skills

Strong project management and organizational abilities

Knowledge of design software and tools

Collaborative mindset with the ability to inspire and motivate a team

Adaptability to evolving design trends and technologies

Continuous learning and openness to feedback

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Interpersonal skills

Ability to empathize with clients and team members

Public speaking 

Time-management 

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field; or equivalent work experience

Experience: 6-8+ years of Senior Creative Development experience either agency or in-house

Systems: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, Premier Pro, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Figma a plus

Managerial Requirements: N/A

Physical Requirements: Office position requiring telephone and computer use. May be required to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds for displays, samples and other marketing materials

Travel Requirements: Limited travel regionally and nationally

Cambria’s starting salary range for this position is $81,000 - $109,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
