Sr. Application Modernization Specialist Solution Architect, Public Sector US SLG/EDU Specialist
Description As a Senior State and Local Government Container/Serverless Specialist Solution Architect, you will drive the adoption of AWS container and serverless services across government entities while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and security. You'll leverage deep expertise in container services (ECS, EKS, App Runner) and serverless technologies (Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions) to help government agencies modernize their critical workloads. Working closely with field and central teams, you'll champion government customer needs, curate feature requests, and ensure compliance requirements are met for unique public sector use cases. Your role includes maintaining technical standards for specialist artifacts, supporting go-to-market strategies, and leading field marketing initiatives focused on government modernization. As a thought leader in public sector technology transformation, you'll contribute to AWS Government blogs, whitepapers, and speaking engagements. Additionally, you'll build and nurture an AWS internal community of container and serverless experts focused on government solutions, creating enablement materials that help Solution Architects integrate modern architectures into government workloads while meeting strict public sector requirements. Create enablement materials to help Solution Architects integrate modern architectures into government workloads while meeting public sector requirements. Basic Qualifications - Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent - 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience Preferred Qualifications - 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience - Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS - 3+ years of experience in designing architectures, implementation experience and workload migrations to the Cloud in migration and modernization services (Kubernetes, Container services) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
