Responsibilities

Part of the Workforce Insights, Organizational Performance, and Planning Team, the Senior Analyst will provide our business partners with Human Resources data and reports using tools such as Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle Transaction Business Intelligence, Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence, and PeopleSoft query manager. This position will play a critical role in providing meaningful information to drive business operations, as well as enable the success of Ascension Health’s strategic investment in Oracle reporting and analytics solutions. This role will serve as a senior technical expert and be pivotal in translating detailed requirements into meaningful reports for the end user by ensuring that the data is relevant, timely and effectively satisfies the business need. 

Responsibilities:

Creates, develops and customizes reports using Ascension Health’s current PeopleSoft application and future Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Oracle. Serves as subject matter expert on Oracle reporting and analytics tools including Oracle BI Publisher (BIP), Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), and Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI).Provides consistent, appropriate mentorship to analysts on the Operational Insights team in areas of technical acumen, reporting best practices, and Oracle system structure. Facilitates meetings with business partners to capture requirements, determine reporting goals, and understand the business issue to be solved; design, develop, and build reports that share insights and provide answers for the business issues identified.Performs validation and analysis of report data to ensure accuracy.Creates and maintains technical documentation of processes, reports, applications, and procedures.Builds credibility and rapport with customers to understand their needs.Acts as a technical point of contact and conducts user acceptance testing of reports.Supports the development and maintenance of data governance and/or data standards.Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education:

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences

Preferred Qualifications:

Expert Database query skills (SQL/PLSQL)Understanding of Oracle data lineage, and Oracle reporting and analytics toolsPrior experience in a lead or senior analyst role serving as the primary translator between customer/end user needs and technical requirements. Desire & ability to work in a team environment demonstrated by regularly partnering with fellow team members to accomplish objectives. 

Skills & Experience:

Experience using Oracle HCM, specifically Core HR, Benefits, Compensation, Helpdesk, Learning, Talent Management, and Recruiting modulesSkilled with Reporting and Analytics tools used in Oracle HCM (BIP, SQL, and other Oracle reporting tools)Experience with backend databases including OracleStrong analytical, problem solving, collaboration and technical skillsUnderstanding of HR data and HR employee lifecycle processes (Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning and Development, Benefits and Compensation, etc.)Previous experience with healthcare organizational dataUnderstanding complex problems and collaborating to explore alternative solutionsPropensity to act as a self-starter, working independently to identify, design and implement internal process improvement, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing for greater scalability and then sharing takeaways with the team.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to tailor communications depending on the audienceAbility to handle confidential and sensitive information
