About the role:

The Senior Analyst, RGM is critical in delivering against the Diageo Canada RGM agenda. For your priority markets you will develop and implement value through pricing, brand/size/portfolio mix, and analyzing promotional spend to deliver on commercial objectives.

Purpose

Ensures the pricing agenda and broader RGM processes run efficiently for Diageo to optimize GSV, revenue, and profitability in your respective markets. Identifies key market level RGM opportunities and cascades insights and recommendations to the broader business, with specific partnership with the key partners for your markets (Directors of Performance Management, KAMs, Commercial Planners). Drive internal relationship building capabilities, processes, and tools in the RGM space to accelerate data insights into commercial action.

Decision Making

Independent, resourceful, and thought-provoking individual, who is responsible for DIAGEO price and NSV per case evolution in your markets. This role requires robust stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills. Owns the evaluation of where and how we spend our commercial investments with customers.

Own price/mix/margin delivery of AOP targets in your respective marketsOwn broader business understanding of Opportunities and Risks related to RGM results/metricsData based recommendations on usage of trade spend budgets

No Direct ReportsReports into the Commercial RGM ManagerAssists Strategy & Planning Director, National RGM Strategy Manager and Performance Director(s) to drive accountability to implement the RGM agendaAssists in Commercial RGM best practice development (tools, process, execution, M&E)

Complexity of Role

Requires understanding of RGM levers (Pricing, Promotional Effectiveness and Trade Terms, Pack and Format Architecture, and Brand/Size/Portfolio Mix)The expert for your markets on value chain and pricing/promotional regulationsDemonstrates commercial experience (finance, category/commercial insights, and/or sales) to guide internal conversations with Commercial, Finance, Brand, and Canadian Leadership)Requires critical technical skill and systems ability on internal and syndicated data sources and reporting toolsUnderstands alcohol sales in a regulated landscapeUnderstands sales in traditional CPG retailers (Grocery, Convenience)Understands key customer requirements, strategies, and tendencies

Key Outputs/Results 

Takes an active role in assisting the Commercial RGM Manager and Strategy & Planning Director on developing a high-performing team, bringing our Purpose to Life, and driving RGM capability development cross-functionallyDeliver RGM value through price and mix that is ahead of the industry and categories in your markets, and at minimum delivers on annual targetsIn your markets execute, monitor, and evaluate impact of national price direction for both price and promotional guidelinesDrives promotional insights through M&E, and assists in future promotional plan developmentDeliver monthly pricing, mix and NSV/cs results and forecastBe the expert of, and maintain value chain structures for your marketsEnsure all relevant partners understand pricing and promotional timelines and regulations for your marketsLead/assist market specific commercial analysis and opportunity identification (Price, Mix, Promo, Rate-of-Sale/Distribution/Channel, Innovation)Provide innovation pricing based on National guidance, and assist in national RGM analysis as neededImplement price changes with the liquor boards in your markets, and ensure the pricing information is accurately updated in Anaplan and communicated for SAP upload – Provide PO price discrepancy guidance as needed

Experience / skills required:

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of Business experience, preferably in the Beverage/Alcohol or Consumer Packaged Goods industry.Knowledge of P&L leversStrong track record in analytical or commercial sales/finance rolesExpertise in one or more of: pricing/promo analytics, tool development, syndicated data, trade terms optimization, promotional effectiveness, financeFamiliarity with multiple data sources ex. sales data, financial data, and consumer dataExcellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking; collaborating with brand/category/commercial teams and other key internal/external partners; effective in influencing wide variety of partnersStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and systems aptitude, PowerBI, Anaplan, and SAP a bonus
