Job Description
You will be responsible for the overall global trade management process at several Avery Dennison divisions. Your responsibilities will include tariff classification of goods/materials, import audits, free trade agreement analysis as well as assisting management with priority Trade Compliance projects. You will also help to find opportunities to improve and streamline trade compliance processes, and target participation in trade programs to deliver savings or enhanced benefits to supply chain and/or customers. #LI-Remote
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform all functions necessary to ensure compliance with governmental regulations, including, but not limited to:
+ Import Management
+ Perform import audits
+ Work with import brokers and vendors to help facilitate imports
+ Maintain a product database
+ Identify, track & report dutiable assists & additions to value on imported merchandise
+ Flag entries for RECON program
+ Import operations working with Supply Chain to ensure goods clear customs.
+ Free Trade Agreements
+ Work with internal/external vendors to collect compliance information
+ Run and analyze reports for free trade agreement eligibility
+ Preparation of USMCA and other trade agreement certificates
+ Ensure all records pertaining to the FTA are maintained and filed in a timely and orderly manner
+ Oversee free trade agreement program at locations outside the US
+ Global Trade Management tasks
+ Identify, develop and deliver training materials and programs to business staff
+ Provide trade compliance technical advice to key business personnel in conjunction with GTM management
+ Classify imported goods in accordance with U.S. laws & regulations
+ Continuously assess savings opportunities across the company and report them on a quarterly basis
+ Assist in addressing day to day compliance matters
+ Provide support in finding opportunities to reduce annual duties and tariffs
+ Maintain a standardized trade compliance manual with desktop procedures and systems to include internal processes and controls
+ Lead and participate in Global Trade Management projects as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
+ 7+ years of import/export regulatory experience
+ US Customs Broker License
+ Experience with USMCA and other free trade agreements
+ Experience with value reconciliation
+ Strong Project Management skills
+ Experience implementing regulatory requirements in a manufacturing/operations environment
+ Trade compliance background in US Customs
+ Strong analytical skills
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel
+ Flexible, detail oriented individual who is able to prioritize tasks easily
+ Ability to balance rule driven processes with creative problem solving skills
+ Up to 10% travel
+ Hybrid position. Minimum of 2 days in the office per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree or higher
+ Experience with Customs regulations in Canada & Mexico
+ Located in North East Ohio
Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $77,775 - $103,700 / year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
