What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise AML Risk Assessment, you will be responsible for providing ongoing support of the Enterprise AML/ATF and Sanctions Risk Assessments, conducted at a global level for all CIBC lines of business (LOB). As a Senior Analyst you will support completion of enterprise-wide Inherent Risk and Control Assessments, in accordance with Enterprise AML/ATF and Sanctions Risk Assessment methodologies and as required under the Proceeds of Crime Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and corresponding regulations, FINTRAC guidelines, including the Risk Based Approach (RBA) to Combatting ML and TF, OSFI Guidelines B8 and E13 in Canada. Working with peers, you will support the day-to-day activities of the team during the project lifecycle ensuring key project milestones are achieved.

How you’ll succeed
Perform AML/ATF and Sanctions Risk Assessments across CIBC lines of business (LOB) in compliance with the Canadian legislation; including planning, data gathering, analysis, and reporting, in order to assess the inherent and residual risk related to business clients, products, lines of service, geography, etc. Demonstrates ownership and diligence in appropriately handling client/LOB communications, requests and issue resolution.
Evaluate adequate processes and procedures in place to effectively monitor and manage risk, through evidenced analysis of AML/ATF and Sanctions control environment. Conduct assessment of mitigating controls to identify gaps/deficiencies and weaknesses within the program. Assist with preparing reports and presentations based on the results of the Risk Assessment, addressing matters with swift responsiveness, preparation, and professionalism.
Aid in enhancements of the existing EAML Risk Assessment framework and reporting process, including updates to the assessment methodologies and by identifying additional quantitative and qualitative risk data points for use in evaluating CIBC’s overall risk exposure. Coordinate and support projects related to the Risk Assessment process, including ad hoc requests from Senior Management, including engaging with internal groups/LOBs to source required information.
Who you are
You can demonstrate time management, strong business writing skills with attention to detail, strong verbal skills, team player, experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint; Excel and Word) including creating Excel pivot tables and incorporating data analysis and charts into presentations.
You are a certified professional. You have a current CAMS designation – considered an asset.
You have a Degree in Finance, Business or Criminal Justice or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
