Sr. Accounting Analyst
Description Technical Accounting Senior – Global Acquisition Accounting Our client, a publicly traded service company, is seeking an experienced and driven Technical Accounting Senior to focus on global acquisition accounting and support. This role plays a critical part in the organization’s growth strategy, providing technical accounting expertise during mergers and acquisitions, leading due diligence efforts, and ensuring seamless integration into corporate policies and reporting. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting and Reporting, this position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional global teams. Key Responsibilities + Lead accounting for acquisitions, including purchase price allocations, fair value assessments, and preparation of opening balance sheets. + Draft technical accounting whitepapers and perform journal entries and reconciliations related to new acquisitions. + Partner with external valuation specialists to complete tangible and intangible asset valuations in line with U.S. GAAP. + Ensure acquired entities are integrated into corporate reporting and internal controls, aligning with SOX and company policies. + Collaborate with financial reporting teams on acquisition-related disclosures and external audit requests. + Oversee post-acquisition adjustments and assist in goodwill impairment testing. + Partner with global legal, finance, tax, and treasury teams to ensure accurate and timely transaction support. + Contribute to special projects involving mergers, divestitures, and other technical accounting initiatives. Requirements Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required. + 2–5 years of technical accounting experience, with strong knowledge of acquisition accounting and ASC 805. + Big 4 public accounting experience preferred. + Expertise in U.S. GAAP, goodwill impairment (ASC 350), and financial reporting. + Exceptional analytical skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong communication skills. + Familiarity with Workday or similar ERP systems.
