Description
We are seeking a part time Sr. Accountant to join our client's team in Petaluma. This person will be responsible helping them manage a transition to QuickBooks Online from our current accounting software, maintaining accurate financial records, and managing their accounting and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
• QuickBooks Transition
o Lead the transition to QuickBooks Online from our legacy accounting software
o Set up QuickBooks including setting up chart of accounts, migrating current year financials, linking bank accounts, establishing other integrations, and more to ensure that the system is set up properly
o Coordinate with new Inventory Software implementers to ensure that inventory, sales, returns, and COGS are properly accounted for in the new system
o Manage bookkeeping for all transactions from ecommerce and marketplace channels, including revenue, fees, shipping cost, sales tax
o Oversee bookkeeping assistant who handles accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank and credit card reconciliations
o Complete monthly and yearly financial close processes
o Prepare financial statements (P& L, balance sheets, cash flow statements)
o Assist with inventory management and purchasing
o Leverage analytical skills to assist with budget preparation, forecasting, variance analysis, and generate other analyses and reports for management
o Process payroll in ADP
Requirements
Required Qualifications
• Associate / Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Experience with Great Plains is highly preferred
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Experience setting up QuickBooks and migrating from another system
• Experience with accounting for inventory and using 3rd party inventory management systems
• Experience with ecommerce accounting and tools such as A2X
• Experience with payroll systems, with ADP knowledge as a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and also work independently
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage sensitive financial information with a high degree of discretion
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and basic tax regulations
