Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our clients team in Pleasanton, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in supporting financial operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical accounting processes and ensure compliance with established standards. Responsibilities: • Perform account reconciliations, including detailed analysis and resolution of discrepancies. • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Manage bank reconciliation processes to maintain proper financial controls. • Maintain and oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries and adjustments. • Execute month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded. • Assist with year-end closing tasks, including accruals, capital assets, and fund transfers. • Support budgeting activities by uploading transactions and providing detailed financial reports. • Handle revenue posting and manage pension and liability accounts effectively. Requirements • Proven experience in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation. • Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and journal entries. • Proficiency in bank reconciliations and month-end close procedures. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis. • Expertise in year-end financial closing processes, including accruals and capital assets. • Solid understanding of government accounting practices and compliance requirements.
