Description We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Accountant to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This Contract-to-Permanent role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, including the CFO and Controller, and contribute to high-level financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll accounting, auditing, and construction-related finance while showcasing strong communication skills and an efficient approach.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate directly with the CFO and Controller to support high-level financial decision-making.
• Oversee payroll accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Perform month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Handle account and bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
• Conduct audits and provide insights based on findings to improve financial practices.
• Utilize construction industry knowledge to manage specialized accounting tasks effectively.
• Foster positive client relationships through proactive communication and efficient engagement.
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis to support organizational goals.
• Leverage experience in public accounting to enhance operational processes and compliance.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement. Requirements • Minimum of 5-8 years of accounting experience, including 2-5 years in auditing.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting and its complexities.
• Familiarity with construction finance and related accounting practices is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree from a reputable university, with evidence of balancing work and studies.
• Proficiency in month-end close, general ledger management, and journal entries.
• Experience with account and bank reconciliations.
• CPA certification or progress toward certification is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality to engage effectively with clients and team members.
