Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a skilled Construction Accountant to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in general ledger accounting and a deep understanding of financial processes within the construction industry. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with project management teams and contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of job forecasts. Responsibilities: • Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. • Manage WIP schedules and project accounting for construction projects. • Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. • Conduct account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly. • Collaborate with project management teams to update job forecasts and provide financial insights. • Apply percentage of completion accounting principles to monitor project progress. • Utilize Viewpoint Vista software to streamline accounting tasks and enhance reporting. • Support senior management in financial analysis and decision-making processes. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, ideally within the construction industry. • WIP and project accounting experience • Strong knowledge of percentage of completion accounting and job forecasting. • Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and reconciliations. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively with project management teams and senior leadership.
