Penn Machine Company, a Marmon Group/Berkshire Hathaway Company, is a proven 100+ year old company in a growth industry. We are a leading manufacturer of products and services for the transit, railroad, mining, general industry, and oil/gas industries in the US and globally.

In this role, you’ll report directly to the Controller and lead day-to-day accounting operations. We’re looking for a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys collaborating across departments.

What You'll Do:Oversee general ledger activities and ensure timely, accurate financial reportingSupervise one Junior Accountant and provide functional guidance to AP, AR and PayrollSupport payroll processing, reconciliations, and journal entriesAssist with inventory and cost accounting, including variance analysisPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reporting, and tax complianceSupport audits and help maintain strong internal controlsRecommend process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy

What We're Looking For:Minimum Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business3+ years of accounting experience in manufacturingPayroll experience required, ADP Workforce Now preferredKnowledge of GAAP, SOX, and proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systemsStrong analytical and organizational skillsExperience with cost accounting and/or inventory are pluses
