Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Longwood, Florida. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and delivering insightful financial reporting to support organizational goals. Responsibilities: • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and timely submission to divisional leadership. • Assist in creating monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring all financial data is accurate and reconciled. • Lead the reconciliation of accounts such as Payroll and Payroll Liabilities, Accrued Expenses, Prepaid Inventory, Leases, Fixed Assets, and Intangible Assets. • Review financial statements to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory standards, while verifying proper allocation of corporate charges. • Manage the preparation and filing of tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies, collaborating with consultants to ensure licensing compliance. • Identify and resolve transactional errors within financial systems, working to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy. • Support month-end close processes, including journal entries and general ledger updates, to ensure timely financial reporting. • Conduct bank reconciliations and verify account balances to maintain accurate financial records. • Provide insights and reports to leadership to inform strategic decision-making and improve financial operations. Requirements • Proven experience in full-cycle accounting, including month-end close processes. • Expertise in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation. • Strong skills in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports. • Experience with bank reconciliations and verifying financial data accuracy. • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory compliance requirements. • Proficiency in managing job cost accounting and tracking financial performance metrics. • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial systems and processes. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
