Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing month-end processes, reconciling accounts, and driving operational efficiency. Responsibilities: • Lead month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy. • Prepare and post journal entries to support proper documentation of transactions. • Conduct detailed account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies. • Oversee bank reconciliations to guarantee alignment of records with financial statements. • Collaborate on tax accounting processes, including preparation and compliance. • Support acquisition integration efforts by aligning financial operations with organizational goals. • Analyze financial data to identify trends and propose actionable insights. • Ensure adherence to accounting regulations and company policies. • Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and support. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field. • Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. • Familiarity with bank reconciliation procedures and tax accounting standards. • Ability to manage acquisition integration tasks within financial frameworks. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
