Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a pivotal role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting the organization’s accounting operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Manage month-end closing processes, including preparation and review of journal entries.
• Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Perform bank reconciliations to verify transactions and balances.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies.
• Utilize NetSuite to streamline accounting workflows and enhance efficiency.
• Prepare financial reports and provide insights for management decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support audits and special projects.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations.
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records to support reporting requirements. Requirements • Proven experience in general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Strong proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.
• Expertise in bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software.
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders.
