Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Eugene, Oregon, on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting financial operations, particularly focusing on bank reconciliations and ensuring accuracy in accounting processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to streamlining procedures and enhancing efficiency within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: • Conduct detailed bank reconciliations to address and resolve discrepancies within financial records. • Manage month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded. • Prepare and post journal entries to support daily and monthly accounting operations. • Review and reconcile accounts to ensure compliance with financial standards and practices. • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze data and generate reports. • Collaborate with internal teams to create and implement improved processes for manual bank reconciliation tasks. • Support financial reporting requirements and assist in meeting year-end deadlines. • Provide recommendations for streamlining accounting procedures and enhancing system efficiencies. Requirements • Proven experience in bank reconciliation, with the ability to manage complex financial records. • Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance. • Skilled in preparing and posting journal entries with a high level of accuracy. • Proficiency in account reconciliation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas and large datasets. • Previous experience in a manufacturing industry environment is preferred. • Ability to adapt to manual processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing financial operations.
