Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in just outside of the Coal Valley, IL area. This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong analytical skills and attention to detail to contribute to the financial health of a dynamic manufacturing company. You will oversee essential accounting tasks, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide valuable insights to support management decision-making. Responsibilities: • Prepare and manage financial reports, including month-end and year-end closing activities. • Record journal entries for routine transactions and propose solutions for complex accounting issues. • Maintain schedules for fixed assets and process necessary general ledger entries. • Ensure timely completion of account reconciliations and prepare variance analyses for balance sheet and income statement accounts. • Oversee the issuance of 1099 forms, ensuring compliance with regulatory deadlines. • Review accounts payable invoices, assist with inventory cycle counts and reconciliations, and verify payroll benefit deductions. • Prepare intercompany invoices and monthly financial reports for senior management. • Manage weekly cash position reports to provide accurate financial insights. • Perform system tasks to ensure transactions are properly processed and recorded, including batch processing and account reconciliations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • At least 2 years of progressive accounting experience. • Proficiency in month-end close procedures, general ledger management, and journal entries. • Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations. • Advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting systems. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
