Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in San Diego, California. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage complex accounting tasks and ensure the accuracy of financial records. The ideal candidate will excel in analytical reviews and contribute to process improvements. Responsibilities: • Prepare and post month-end journal entries independently to maintain accurate financial records. • Perform thorough bank reconciliations to ensure proper alignment between accounts. • Conduct analytical reviews of financial statements to identify discrepancies and enhance reporting accuracy. • Manage job costing processes to allocate resources effectively and monitor project expenses. • Oversee billing procedures and implement strategies to streamline operations. • Reconcile payroll records to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Prepare sales tax filings and insurance reports in accordance with regulatory requirements. • Maintain consistency between the balance sheet and income statement through detailed reviews. • Collaborate with team members to refine accounting procedures and optimize workflows. Requirements • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role. • Proficiency in month-end close processes, including journal entry preparation and posting. • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation. • Experience with bank reconciliations and financial statement analysis. • Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy. • Familiarity with job costing and payroll reconciliation. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Advanced understanding of sales tax reporting and insurance documentation.
