Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes, including month-end closings, reconciliations, and reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting procedures while supporting audit and compliance efforts.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the month-end close process by preparing and posting accurate journal entries in alignment with organizational policies.
• Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Support consolidation activities, including intercompany eliminations and alignment of financial data across entities.
• Prepare supporting documentation for financial statements and contribute to the accurate reporting of financial results.
• Collaborate with the team to identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide analytical support by reviewing financial data, identifying trends, and offering insights to aid decision-making.
• Assist in preparing for external audits by ensuring all financial documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulations.
• Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and assist with tax filings.
• Contribute to the integration of acquired businesses by supporting financial processes and procedures. Requirements • Proven experience in managing month-end close processes and journal entries.
• Strong proficiency in general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Familiarity with consolidation processes, including intercompany eliminations.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical skills for identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within cross-functional teams.
• Experience with audit preparation and compliance with government reporting requirements.
