Description We are looking for a meticulous Senior Accountant to join our team in NW Houston Texas. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide mentorship to less experienced accounting staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of general ledger functions, month-end processes, and reconciliation tasks. Responsibilities: • Oversee and execute general accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger. • Ensure month-end and year-end closing processes are completed accurately and within established timelines. • Review and verify general ledger coding to ensure compliance with organizational standards. • Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting team members to support their growth and development. • Coordinate and assist with external audits, ensuring smooth communication and accurate documentation. • Prepare and support tax-related documentation in compliance with regulations. • Monitor and address inventory variances, ensuring accurate financial reporting. • Generate and maintain monthly financial reports to support organizational decision-making. • Ensure compliance with state regulatory requirements and accounting standards.NW Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related roles. • Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger activities. • Strong skills in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. • Experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to mentor and collaborate effectively with team members. • Knowledge of state compliance requirements and tax preparation processes.
