Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities: • Maintain precise inventory records and perform monthly reconciliations between physical counts and system data. • Oversee inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, and returns, while ensuring compliance with accounting policies. • Investigate and resolve inventory variances by collaborating with cross-functional teams. • Record and track the cost of goods sold, inventory adjustments, and obsolescence reserves. • Prepare detailed journal entries, reconciliations, and reports for month-end close processes. • Assist in the development and maintenance of standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs). • Partner with supply chain and operations teams to monitor material usage, rework, and scrap. • Ensure inventory practices adhere to internal controls, regulatory standards, and industry requirements. • Provide documentation and analysis to support audits related to inventory. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inventory control and automating processes. Requirements • Proven experience with month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance. • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. • Strong skills in bank reconciliations and financial reporting. • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems. • Ability to analyze inventory data and resolve discrepancies effectively. • Knowledge of standard costing and bills of materials (BOMs). • Understanding of regulatory requirements and internal controls related to inventory accounting. • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
