Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant in the New Haven, Connecticut area. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing key financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving accuracy in reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to contribute to the success and efficiency of our accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements in alignment with organizational standards. • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. • Maintain and oversee the accuracy of the general ledger and all associated accounts. • Ensure compliance with tax regulations by preparing and filing federal, state, and local tax returns. • Collaborate with various departments to assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. • Identify opportunities for streamlining processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency. • Provide support for internal and external audits by compiling documentation and addressing auditor inquiries. • Mentor entry-level accounting staff, fostering growth and knowledge sharing within the team. • Stay informed on updates to accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.
